Special Educational Needs Policy

Children Playing

Barnby & North Cove Primary is an inclusive school.

The Consortium Multi Academy Trust has strong beliefs that all children should have an equal opportunity to learn and develop academically, socially and emotionally at school.

We nurture and value all children equally and celebrate diversity.  We have a very well trained team of teachers, teaching assistants, midday supervisors and senior management, to ensure that all children’s needs are being met appropriately and that all students are making progress.

We work closely with parents and children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and will involve them in the decisions that are taken about their education. Barnby & North Cove Primary School welcomes all children regardless of special needs or disability. Pupils with additional needs may have extra visits before starting school and there will be close liaison with parents, their early years setting or existing school, to ensure that the correct arrangements are in place.  For further information, please see the Trust’s SEN Policy here:-  https://consortiumacademy.co.uk/suffolk/primary/consortium-mat/site/pages/ourfamiliescommunities/send

Our SEND Coordinator for Barnby & North Cove Primary School is Mrs Kathy Brooke who can be contacted by email at:  Sendco@consortiumacademy.org, or by speaking to the School Office or Miss Williams, Senior Teacher.
